Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 Bangkok – Chiangrai
On arrival Bangkok Suvannabhumi International Airport connecting flight to Chiangrai (Suggested early morning flight) On arrival Chiangrai the guide will meet you and we will first visit Chiang Saen, the ancient city, which was once a Buddhist center dating back to 13th Century. Then we continue to the Golden Triangle Town and visit The Hall of Opium, which is very educational and entertaining. Find out the story of opium in the Golden Triangle and throughout the world. Late afternoon we will take a boat trip along the Mekhong River, which shares the borders of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos. We will take a short stop to one of the Laotian Islands.
Evening will visit Chang Saen Lake/

Day 2 Chiangrai > Fang
Early morning: start birding around resort area
After checking out from your hotel, we will then depart to experience the beautiful scenery at Doi Mae Salong, the largest Tea plantation area in Thailand. We will stop to visit some hill tribe villages such as Yao, Akha and the Yunnanes to gain knowledge of their unique independent lifestyle & customs. Lunch will be taken at local Thai restaurant, then start driving to Fang Town.
Stop birding along the way.

Day 3 Doi Sanju
After arranged breakfast and lunch box, we will drive up to Doi Sanju. Birds possible to see ; Mountain Bamboo Partridges on the road side. Mountain Imperial Pigeon, Mountain Hawk Eagle, Indochinese Cuckooshrike, Largh cuckooshrike, Large Niltava, Chestnut – crowned Warbler, Cutia, Rufous – winged Fulvetta, Spotted – winged Grosbeak etc.
Evening drive back to overnight in Fang Town.
Day 4 Doi Sanju> Chiangmai
Early morning after breakfast and check out, we will drive up to Doi Sanju for a half day birding. Then travel along the scenic road to Doi Angkhang to overnight

Day 5 Doi Angkhang
During the day we will birding at different site in Doi Angkhang, possible spotting several bird species enjoy the cool climate of Doi Angkhang, at the border military camp, hill tribe village. Possible birds to be seen; White – browed Scimitar Babbler, Mountain Tailorbird, White – rumped Shama, Daurian Redstart, Brown – breasted Bulbul, Crested Finchbill, Black – crested Bulbul, Peregrine Falcon, Great Barbet, Green – billed Malkoha etc.

Day 6 Doi Angkhang > Chiang Dao
Breakfast then check out birding in different part of Doi Angkhang area, then drive to Chiang Dao rice field area, looking for birds in the shrubs and the rice fields. Wat Tum Phaplong.The possibility birds that can find is Pin-tailed Parrotfinch, Pin-tailed Green- Pigeon, Asian Drongo Cuckoo, Banded Bay Cuckoo, Black- naped Monarch, Plaintive Cuckoo, Blue – eared Barbet, Wire –tailed swallow etc.

Day 7 Chiang Doi Elephan camp > Chiang Mai
Today we will take an exciting safari trip at Chiang Dao Elephant Camp. We will watch the elephants take their daily bath and a demonstration of the elephant working, pushing and pulling the heavy logs. Then take an elephant ride through the peaceful jungle to visit a Lisu Hill Tribe Village. Look around the village, then continue your elephant ride back to the camp. After lunch, take a Bamboo raft down the Ping River. On the way back to the hotel we can stop at the Orchid farm.

Day 8 Birding and Doi Suthep Temple
Early morning, will drive up to the back site of Doi Suthep National Park for bird watching, birds possible to be seen; Long – tailed Broadbill, Silver – breasted Broadbill, Maroon Oriole, Hill – blued Flycatcher, Black Baza, Silver – eared Mesia, Mountain Bulbul, Striated Yuhina, White-rumped Munia, Golden – fronted Leafbird etc.
Later we will visit one of the most important temple, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, once you have reached the temple, you can enjoy the best views of Chiang Mai city, from 3,000ft above the ground. Learn about the history of this temple and how it came to be constructed so high up the mountain.

Day 9 Chiangmai – Doi Inthanon
Today we will check out and start to go bird watching at Chiang Mai University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Mae Hia, an area of farmland, grassland, scrub and reservoir, good to see some open-country species such as, Brown- breasted Prinia, Red-Wattled Lapwing, Wire-tailed Swallow, Red Avadavat, White – Rumped Munia and some migratory birds such as Siberian Rubythroat, Eurasian Wryneck. After lunch at local restaurant we will travel to Doi Inthanon National Park. Check in at Royal Project Accommodation, start bird watching around the Resort.
Day 10 Doi Inthanon
This morning will proceed up to the second checkpoint, birds that possible to be seen are: Rufouse-bellied Niltava, Small Niltava, White-gorgeted Flycather, White-browed Scimitar-Babbler, Yellow-checked Tit, Grey-checked Fulveta, Black-headed Sibia, Asian Emerald Cuckcoo, White – tailed Leaf Warbler, White-throated Fantail, Silver-eared Mesia, Spectacled Barwing, Fulvous – breasted Woodpecker, Bronzed Drongo
Later, will proceed to the mountains summit to look for some of the mountains rarer birds, such as Green – tailed Sunbird, Chestnut – tailed Minla, Pigmy Wren Babbler, Slaty – bellied Tesia, Ashy – throated Warbler, Snowy – browed Flycatcher, Rufous – throated Partridge, Chestnut – crowned Laughingthrush, Flavescent Bulbul.
After lunch, will visit different habitat such as, Huaw Sai Luang waterfall, farm land etc. in the National Park area. Birds possible to be seen; Plumbeous Redstart, White – capped Water Redstart, Slaty – backed Forktail, Black – backed Forktail, Blue Whistling Thrush, Silver – breasted Broadbill, Black – napped Monarch, Asian Paradise – Flycatcher and more…
Day 11 Doi Inthanon – Chiangmai
Early morning enjoy spotting birds in the others National Park area. Birds possible to be seen; Short – billed Minivet, Bar – winged Flycatcher – Shrike, Grey Treepie, Lesser – Racket tailed Drongo, Verditer Flycatcher, Chestnut – bellied Leafbird, Grey – throated Babbler,Black – throated Parrotbill. Ashy Bubul, Mountain Bulbul, Striated Bulbul
Late afternoon will drive back and transfer to Chiangmai Airport for your flight to next destination
