Khao Yai, Pak Thale, Keng Krachan 6-night 7 days Bird Watching tour 

Day by day itinerary

Day 1

Pick up from hotel in Bangkok. Drive about 2 hr. to find Rufous Limestone Babbler (Gypsophila calcicole) is restricted to one small area and just elevated to full specie. The bird has been listed as Vulnerable and one endemic specie to Thailand. Later we continue to Khoa yai National Park, one of the best bird watcher paradise. We will stroll around different nature trail in the park area. Great opportunity to spot wild life: Gibbon, wild elephants, Red Muntjac, short tail macaque. Birds possible to be seen: Coral-billed Ground – Cuckoo, Brown-backed Needletail, Laced Woodpecker, Heart-spotted Woodpecker, Great Hornbill, Oriental Pied Hornbill, Austen’s Brown Hornbill.

Evening animal spotting safari and return to hotel.

Day 2

Early morning start driving up to different zone in Khao Yai National Park area, such as Khao Kiew, the highest peak, possible to spot; Silver Pheasants, Siamese Fireback, Greater Flameback, Thick-billed Pigeon, Longtailed Broadbill, Black-throated Laughingthrush, Blue-breasted Bee-eater and more

Then move on to nearby Pha Deaw Dai Nature trial and view point. Possible to see Green-eared Barbet, Lesser Racquet-tailed Drongo, Green Magpie, Orange-breasted Trogon, Hainan Blue Flycatcher. Verditer Flycatcher and more.

Overnight in Khao Yai area

Day 3

Start the day by checking some interesting bird in a neighborhood, such as Red-breasted Parakeet, Asian-barred Owlet, Chestnut-tailed Starling, Common Starling etc. Then we will drive to Pak Thale, stop birding at the local patch along the way.  Late afternoon, will check the shorebird along the way to our accommodation.

Day 4

Start bird watching at Baan Pak Thale area searching for Critically Endangered Spoon-billed Sandpiper and Endangered Great Knot, and other shore birds such as Red-necked Phalarope, Nordmann’s Greenshank, Pacific Golden Plover, Grey Plover, Little Ringed Plover, Kentish Plover, Black-tailed Godwit, Brown-headed Gull, Red-necked Stint, Caspian Tern and much more

We explore along the salt pane in Laem Pak Bia area to look for Lesser Sand Plover, Marsh Sandpiper, Pacific Golden Plover, Black-tailed Godwit, Bar-tailed Godwit, Wood Sandpiper and Curlew Pied Avocet, Ruff, Broad-billed Sandpiper and, Asian Dowitcher etc.

Late afternoon we will drive to overnight near Keng Krachan

Day 5

Full day bird watching at different area in Kaeng Krachan national Park area. Birds possible to be seen;

Black-naped Oriole, Crimson Sunbird, Ruby–cheeked Sunbird, Golden-fronted Leafbird, Greater Yellownape, Golden-crested Myna, Black-and-Red Broadbill, Crested Serpents Eagle, Brown Fulveta, Black Baza(winter migration), Black Thighed Falconet , Asian Fairy Bluebird, Grey-rumped, Treeswift, Ochraceous Bulbul, Black-crested Bulbul, Stripe-throated Bulbul, Green Iora, Green Magpie, Sultan Tit, Velvet-fronted Nuthatch, Bronze Drongo, Ashy Drongo, Common Flamblack, Hill Blue Flycatcher, Green-eared Barbet , Pin-striped Tit-Babbler, Banded Kingfsher etc.

Day 6

Morning will do birding in a local bird hides, birds like to come to bath such as Greater& Lesser Necklaced Laughingthrush, Large Scimitar Babbler, Bar-backed Partridge, Red Junglefowl, Greater Yellownape, Blue Whistling Thrush, Blue Pitta etc.,

Afternoon will go back in to National Park area searching for more birds. Or may go check another bird hide.

Day 7

Morning will go to farmland and scrub area looking for Rain Quail, Asian Blue Quail (rainy season) Chinese Francolin, Asian Golden Weaver, Streaked Weaver, Watercock

Afternoon drive back to Bangkok
