Day by Day Private Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Chiangmai- Phrae

After breakfast, check out then drive to The Elephant Conservation Center, watch the demonstration how they train elephant in the older day when logging business was permitted, then, visit Elephant Hospital, see why these creatures need a good care. After that, continue to visit the finest Lanna Thai Temple, Wat Prathat Lampang Luang.

After Lunch, we will drive to Phrae on the way stop at interesting places as time permit. We will overnight in Phrae.

Day 2

This morning visit interesting attraction in  Phrae such as Vongburi House is located in town, and was built in 1897, a 2 – story build in teak, Thai – European style fine architectural house. The house was awarded “an excellent conservation of the year 1993” award by the Society of Siam Architecture under Royal Patronage and a picture of the house was published in famous magazines. Pra Tab Jai House is the biggest Thai – style house constructed with over 130 teak logs in 1976. Each log is about 300 years old. Inside is elaborate northern – style woodcarving.  Wat Phrathat Chorhae is the most famous temple in Phrae, and then continues driving to Nan province. Check in at your hotel.

Day 3

After breakfast we will visit some interesting sites in Nan town such as: Wat Phumin The most important temple, renowned for its cruciform ubosoth which was constructed in 1596 and restored during the reign of Chao Ananta Vora Ritthi Det (1867-1875). A well preserved murals and great value illustrating is the most notable feature of the temple. Depicting jataka story (the previous lives of the Buddha) as well as scenes of the local life of the Lanna Thai people during the late 19th century. Wat Chang Kum Sukhothai style influence with elephant status around the Chedi. Nan National Museum, display the historical artifacts and the most distinguished is the Black Ivory. Wat Pratat Chae Haeng, another temple which believed to contain the relic of the Lord Buddha. The Viharn’s door frame is Naga shape designed, which considered being one of the great artistic and best in local architectures. If time permitted, visit more interesting sites.

Day 4

Today we will drive to Doi Phukha National park, on the way stop to see Wat Nong Bua, this temple also well known for one of the best mural painting by local craftsman for hundreds years ago. Doi Phukha National Park has two endemic species of plants which can find nowhere else in Thailand. The Giant Fish Tail Palm (Caryota sp.) is a rare and endangered species. The Trunk is larger than the normal Fish tail Palm. When it full grown can get the height up to 8-12 m, often grow on steep cliff in the moist evergreen forest up to 1,500-1,700 Meter above sea level. Chomphu Phukha (Brestschneidera sinensis Hemsl. is one of the specific single species families in the world. It can be found only this National Park.

On the way back to Nan town will stop at Bo Kluea district, Bo Kluea has been an important salt production venue from ancient times. Nan has been a large exporting source of rock salt in the north. At present, the locals still boil the salt by using the traditional method.

Day 5

Today we will travel back to Chiangmai. On the way will stop at some interesting sites along the way. Or take a flight from Nan back to Bangkok
