Pak Thale/ Keng Krachan/ Doi Inthanon 8 days 7 nights

 Day by day itinerary

Day 1

Meet at hotel lobby then drive to Khok Kham and Baan Pak Thale area searching for Critically Endangered Spoon-billed Sandpiper and Endangered Great Knot, and other shore birds such as Red-necked Phalarope, Nordmann’s Greenshank, Pacific Golden Plover, Grey Plover, Little Ringed Plover, Kentish Plover, Black-tailed Godwit, Brown-headed Gull, Red-necked Stint, Caspian Tern and much more

We explore along the salt pane in Laem Pak Bia area to look for, Lesser Sand Plover, Marsh Sandpiper, Pacific Golden Plover, Black-tailed Godwit, Bar-tailed Godwit, Wood Sandpiper and Curlew Pied Avocet, Ruff, Broad-billed Sandpiper and, frequently, Asian Dowitcher etc.

Day 2

Morning time, cover more for the shore bird in Baan Pak Thale and Laem Pak Bia area, hoping to see more new bird species.

Afternoon drive to Kaeng Krachan National Park area to check in at accommodation. Will stop to birding at local patch along the way.

Day 3

Full day bird watching at different area in Kaeng Krachan National Park area. Birds possible to be seen;

Black-naped Oriole, Crimson Sunbird, Ruby–cheeked Sunbird, Golden-fronted Leafbird, Greater Yellownape, Golden-crested Myna, Black-and-Red Broadbill, Crested Serpents Eagle, Brown Fulveta, Black Baza(winter migration), Black Thighed Falconet , Asian Fairy Bluebird, Grey-rumped, Treeswift, Ochraceous Bulbul, Black-crested Bulbul, Stripe-throated Bulbul, Green Iora, Green Magpie, Sultan Tit, Velvet-fronted Nuthatch, Bronze Drongo, Ashy Drongo, Common Flamblack, Hill Blue Flycatcher, Green-eared Barbet , Large-tailed Nightjar, Pin-striped Tit-Babbler, Banded Kingfsher etc.

Overnight at the local accommodation

Day 4

Morning will do birding in a local bird hides, birds like to come to bath such as Greater& Lesser Necklaced Laughingthrush, Large Scimitar Babbler, Bar-backed Partridge, Red Junglefowl.

Afternoon will go back in to National Park area searching for more birds.

Day 5

After breakfast, check out and drive to Bangkok Airport for flight to Chiang Mai.

Upon arrival Chiang Mai, transfer to accommodation near Doi Inthanon National Park. If time permits will do birdwatching in the area.

Day 6 -7

Spend two full day in Doi Inthanon National Park

The Second checkpoint, birds that possible to be seen are; Rufouse-bellied Niltava, Small Niltava, White-gorgeted Flycather, White-browed Scimitar-Babbler, Yellow-checked Tit, Grey-checked Fulveta, Black-headed Sibia, Asian Emerald Cuckcoo, White – tailed Leaf Warbler, White-throated Fantail, Silver-eared Mesia, Spectacled Barwing, Stripe-breasted Woodpecker.

The mountain summit to look for some of the mountain’s rarer birds such as Green – tailed Sunbird, Chestnut – tailed Minla, Pigmy Wren Babbler, Slaty – bellied Tesia, Ashy – throated Warbler, Snowy – browed Flycatcher, Rufous – throated Partridge.

Explore water fall area, birds that possible to be seen: Plumbeous Redstart, White – capped Water Redstart, Slaty – backed Forktail, Black – backed Forktail, Blue Whistling Thrush, Silver – breasted Broadbill, Black – napped Monarch, Asian Paradise – Flycatcher and more…

At the foothill and start early birding, blossom-headed parakeet, Indochinese Bushlark, Burmese Shrike, Purple Sunbird, Golden fronted Leafbird, Rufous Treepie, Scarlet – backed Flowerpecker would be seen at this elevation.

Day 8

Half day morning, spend time bird watching then transfer to Chiang Mai airport for your next destination.
